ABOUT US
A Story of Resilience, Golf, and Mental Health
Brett Emmers, founder of Plus 3 Golf, built his life around golf, dedicating himself to the sport with the ambition of playing at the highest levels. As a Division-1 scholarship golfer, his path seemed clear, until a career-ending injury abruptly changed everything. Stripped of the game that had defined him, he was left struggling with depression, substance abuse, and the uncertainty of what came next, a struggle many athletes face in silence.
The weight of an uncertain future and what followed was a transformative rock bottom. A suicide attempt forced him to confront the reality that many athletes are taught to fight, avoiding the roots of the problems, thus not knowing how to ask for help. His recovery was more than just personal; it became a mission. If he could rebuild his life, so could others.
That mission became Plus 3 Golf—a movement designed to break the stigma around mental health in sports, support the next generation of golfers, and build a community where no athlete fights their battles alone.
